Fresh pile of gorgeous Wild Black Cherry and English Walnut with the natural edge of the tree still intact, which is called a "flitch".
7'x30" Wild Black Cherry Flitch set.
Flipping through the flitch sets to decide which book-matched sets will best suit the needs of the customer, though this primary applies to table tops. When using a flitch board for a piece of fine furniture, the wood dictates what the final outcome will be, as you cannot force a natural shape. My goal is to create simple clean lines that compliment natural shapes.
Two beautiful examples of a flitch book-match.

Work in progress: Maple table legs
All my legs are turned by hand, where as most furniture companies make their legs on a duplicator- hence the slim assortment of legs you may choose between when placing an order. But when you invest in a piece from me, your desires are the most important part of the process and I will custom turn any leg you can imagine so that you get exactly what you had envisioned. This is why it is important to buy custom when you invest in a piece you plan on keeping for generations.

Work in progress: Walnut end tables
Book-matching is a telltale sign of a handcrafted piece of furniture. It refers to matching two boards from the same tree in the same sequence of cut and joining them together to gain a balance within the piece. An example of book-matching can be observed in the above picture which uses curly black walnut.
